Crossfit Taranis Competition in Victoria wraps up this past weekend
This was the 3rd annual Crossfit Taranis Winter Challenge held every November. This year, Steve “#questing” Howell took home the top prize in the male division, while Angie Pye, a Victoria native, came up on top in the female category. The Red, White, and Blue Bellz out of the US of A was the top team this weekend.
Who Is Ready For the CrossFit Taranis Winter Challenge?
With the Crossfit Taranis Winter Challenge looming over us, it’s time to get excited. Quite possible, the premier CrossFit winter event in Canada. This year’s challenge features some of the most well known and best Crossfitters in Western Canada and rumor has it, that some athletes from our neighbors down south might be heading up to compete as well.

Marble starts out as a chunk of stone rooted in the ground that resists removal from its station mightily. It takes brute force to uproot it from its place. Then as an ugly, stubborn chunk it has to be moved by heavy equipment to a place to be cut, shaped and polished until what was once an ugly piece of the earth becomes a beautiful, hard surface brought into service as a floor or a kitchen counter.

Salvation Army School Backpack Drive
Every September, single-parent and low-income families struggle to equip their children for a new school year. The Salvation Army supports these families by distributing donated school supplies. To handle the increased demand, from July 23rd to September 6th , all Lower Mainland Fitness Town, Staples and downtown Vancouver Starbucks locations collect donations, back packs and school supplies for children in need, through The Salvation Army.
The Caveman Cookout: Who’s feeling a little primal?
If you live in Vancouver and are in town on August 6th, then you HAVE get your meat face on and hit up the Caveman Cookout. Get back to your ancestral roots and eat the way Mother Nature intended us to… spear (of course) is optional!
