Motivation: How do I get back on that “proverbial” horse?

There is a great analogy used by author and lecturer Wayne Dyer that goes something like this: the wake of a boat does not control it’s current direction. In other words, where I have been does not in any way determine the direction that I choose to head in this moment. To blame past behavior for my current decisions is about as insane as saying that the wake of a boat controls which way the boat is headed.
