Guest Blogger – Brendan Webb When is the last time that you bought a quality piece of cardio equipment for under $40? My guess is never, unless of course you own a skipping rope. Its easy to learn, and a great way to get your heart rate up quickly. I start sweating like a dog [...]

So part of the 21 day challenge is to make new habits. What I’ve realized is that to make two new habits (blogging and exercise) at the same time can be a bit more challenging than I expected. But I have been at least sticking to the 30 minutes a day of exercising and making [...]
21 day Challenge – FT Edmonton – Day 2
Ahh so the daily blog post is a day late. And I feel badly about that, but the wonderful thing about posting that you are going to do a daily blog, is there definite accountability there. I am doing this blog as a real and honest accounting of the challenge and so here goes… [...]
21 day challenge – The Fitness Town, Edmonton Family (Team) is up for the Challenge!
Why do we need to do the challenge when we work at a Fitness store, surrounded by all the best fitness gear, with awesome staff and a management team that lives and breathes fitness? Well sometimes we too get sidetracked with what I’ll just call ‘life’. And so we are making this COMMITMENT as a TEAM which will be our MOTIVATION and a little competitive spirit which doesn’t hurt either! And there is no better ACCOUNTABILITY partner than a family member which in this case is our co-workers! They can be merciless!

Treadmill vs Elliptical
So the past summer I was trying to decide the winner in the continuing debate between Ellipticals vs Treadmills. As we only had room for one unit in our home gym – I wanted to make sure it would be the right one! Now I enjoyed cross-country running during high school, but university took that [...]
Take the Commuter Challenge 2009
What a better way to kick off the beginning of warmer summer nights, than to take part in the Commuter Challenge 2009! The Commuter Challenge is a 1 week commitment to either cycling/walking/taking transit/carpooling or tele commuting. This could allow you to spend more time outdoors enjoying the fresh spring air, getting some exercise in [...]
Matching Beats – Tune up your body through music
Everyone’s got their favorite music to work out to and anyone ever been to spin class will attest to how the music drives the workout. Apparently there is more to it, with research actually stating that (fast) music will give you better results during exercise, as the music allows you to go further than you [...]
