The Ride To Conquer Cancer: My experiences
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010It’s funny and typical for me to do something at the very LAST minute. When I heard about the Ride to Conquer Cancer I thought “ya right why would I put myself through all of that pain and training, just donate some money and call it a day?” Then I thought about all of the friends that I had lost to cancer over the last 15 years and I felt compelled to take the challenge… little did I know what I was getting into. From the start to finish and everything in between, it was an amazing journey that consisted of 1 border crossing, 2 days of riding a total of 500 km, 5 miles of up hill riding, 11,600 calories burned and $6500 raised in donations… and of course, one especially sore butt. This was The Ride to Conquer Cancer.
