Western Canadian Natural Bodybuilding Championships 2011: “Best Poser” Winning Routine

On May 21 2011 I competed in the Western Canadian Natural Bodybuilding championships in Kelowna BC.

There were over 150 athletes competing in multiple events. This contest is hosted every year in Kelowna during the long weekend.

Fitness Town team member, Tarmo Kangas, "Best Poser" at the Western Canada Natural Bodybuilding Championships

In preparation for this show I started my diet October 20, 2010 weighing in at 241 lbs. I competed in the light heavyweight class weighing in at 196.6 pounds. In a bodybuilding contest there are 2 “shows” which you compete in. The Morning of the bodybuilding contest is where most of the judging is performed. In the evening you again perform some mandatory poses, but you also get to do your own free posing routine to music. I am a big believer that bodybuilding is an Art. I definitely like to take that into consideration for my routines. As such, I won an award for the routine and how i composed myself on stage during the morning and evening shows.

I have a question…why is the cut off age for men 50+ for men but not for women…it is 45 + for women…that is kind of a double standard going on. 5 years makes a big difference you know. Trust me, ask any woman over 50 if she notices differences in her body and difficulty in maintenance from 5 years previous. I’m not whinning…just stating facts here on the age process.
