It’s funny and typical for me to do something at the very LAST minute. When I heard about the Ride to Conquer Cancer I thought “ya right why would I put myself through all of that pain and training, just donate some money and call it a day?” Then I thought about all of the friends that I had lost to cancer over the last 15 years and I felt compelled to take the challenge… little did I know what I was getting into. From the start to finish and everything in between, it was an amazing journey that consisted of 1 border crossing, 2 days of riding a total of 500 km, 5 miles of up hill riding, 11,600 calories burned and $6500 raised in donations… and of course, one especially sore butt. This was The Ride to Conquer Cancer.
How can you find time to exercise?

How to build your home gym on a shoestring

Whole Body Vibration (WBV) Training: What’s the deal?
Often times, I will get a customer coming into the store, looking at our whole body vibration machines and ask: “what are these for? Oh, are they those vibrating machines that ‘jiggle’ your fat off?”
No they are not. What this customer is referring to are the old vibrating machines that were popular in the 60s and 70s and had a belt that went around your waist that was supposed to “shake” the fat out of you. Those machines of yesteryear were a fad and one of the many gimmicks that flooded the fitness industry back then and even today.
Sandbells vs Kettlebells vs Kettleballs – What’s the difference?
Kettlebells have been around for a long time. As a matter of fact, The Russian word for kettlebell (Girya) first appeared in the Russian dictionary in 1704.In recent years however, kettlebell training has been getting more and more popular. This has a lot to do with the recent onslaught of functional fitness programs like Crossfit.
CrossFit and Cross-Training
You think you’re in pretty good shape. You go to the gym three times week doing the same routine week after week. You start on the elliptical machine, you do that for 30 minutes, and then you pick up some light dumbbells and do a few sets of “weight lifting” including bicep curls and shoulder presses. You finish off with a few sets of “abs.” Your friend comes in to town and you decide to take her snow boarding. The next day, your legs are so sore, you can barely move and you get reminded of the pain every time you walk down the stairs. What happened? I thought you were in good shape?
Product Opinion: The Mobia or Treadclimber, what’s the difference?
It’s the same, but better…
Well, it seems that Nautilus is trying again to rekindle its name by coming out with a new piece of equipment, The Mobia. New product? What! Definitely not! Maybe a sheep in wolves clothing but definitely not new. Are they hoping to fool the public or do they take us for idiots?

How do you know your workout is really a workout?
This is a question that some might say can be defined a number of ways. You might answer this question by saying, “I know I had a great workout because of how much I was sweating.” Or you may feel that your workout was a waste because you didn’t sweat. While sweating is our body’s [...]
