Body For Life: week 1

My last post talked about how much I love to eat ice cream among other’s. I was looking at myself in the mirror “Don’t laugh because I know you do it too” and was thinking to myself, summer is coming and instead of being in good shape this year, I decided I want to be in great shape!

I decided to go old school and go back to my roots where my first major results happened, The Body For Life program. I did this maybe close to 8 or 9 years ago and believe it or not I actually watched the “Body of Work” on a VHS a friend lent me.

Back then I was so of just messing around trying to get big and not doing much cardio. At the end of 12 weeks, guy’s I used to train with who were in really good shape were like WOW… what have you been doing? It was this memory I had that has motivated me to kick start myself into giving this another go.

So I watched the “DVD” just to refresh my memory, printed some training info off their website and started on Monday.

What I noticed first of all was how short that 1min rest can be between sets. I guess I’m more accustomed to 2 or 3 minutes so I was really getting a great cardio workout as well as my heart rate was up there.

It is now Thursday and I have only cheated once, last night with a handful of crisps. Only have to wait until Sunday till my off day!!

I really like this program ans you only train weights 3 times a week and the cardio is so short I can still do it in the morning without sacrificing sleep.

Keep you posted how it’s going next week along with some other information including supplements.
