It can be very hard to fit all the essential pieces of the fitness puzzle into our time-crunched schedules. Too often we neglect certain fitness elements, and focus on only what we enjoy or have time for. There is very little we can effectively trim from a balanced workout without sacrificing results. So how can we fit proper warm-ups, adequate cardio workouts, challenging strength training routines, core/postural exercises, and much-needed stretching, all in the shortest amount of time? Combination training can help bring it all together.

168 hours a in a week, don’t tell me you can’t find 2 or 3 for you?
I hear time and time again from clients alike that they just “don’t have the time to exercise”. I don’t mean to be harsh, but I call bull! With 168 hours in a week, I don’t care who you are or what you do, but I know that if you wanted to you could fit it in. Could you give up a 1/2 hour of sleep a night? Do this for 6 days and you’ve fit in more exercise than the average Canadian gets in a month. But what does it take to make this shift?
Sports Injury Warning Signs
We must listen to our bodies when they are talking to us. When we have pain it means our body is trying to protect itself from injury. No matter where the pain is, if it is muscle related or joint related it is due to one or more parts of the body not doing their job properly…
Whatever you do, don’t be a “johnny half rep”
Anyone who has been to a gym has seen it, you know what I mean, the guy who loads up whatever machine and moves it about 2 inches, thinking he is getting a workout. How about the guy that loads up the leg press with 10 plates per side and barely budges the damn thing pumping out a good 10 or so “reps”….
Not your best friend, But ALWAYS there for you
No matter what is happening in your life, it is hard to find something you can 100% rely on, but when you are in need, the iron is always there for you. People have schedules that they need to maintain, and can’t always come to your beckoning call. Knowing a 20 pound dumbbell is [...]
Importance of Vitamins in Your Life
The body needs a minimum amount of vitamins and minerals each day to remain healthy and function properly. A balanced diet normally supplies sufficient vitamins. However, serious disorders can still develop if the diet does not meet your body’s needs. Physical distress is usually a good indication that your body may be suffering from vitamin [...]
Posture Perfect
Proper posture is so important, it effects how you feel and how your body works. If your posture is not up to par, it can cause pain and discomfort, muscular imbalances, headaches, and other problems. How do you change a lifetime of poor postural habits?? It’s not easy, but with a little practice, correct posture can replace your old posture habits.
Body For Life week 2
So week one is over. I have yet to complete the workout in 48 minutes. My muscle endurance must not be as good as I thought it was. Wow is one word I’m going to use when talking about the Body for Life training program. The pump I’ve been getting is great. Nothing better than [...]
